   Transition Networks' ATM UTP to Fiber Media
 Converter integrates your ATM network into any
 existing network cabling system by easily
 converting an ATM fiber link to twisted pair or
 vice versa. By adapting the ATM equipment on a
 port-by-port basis it is more cost-effective than
 more expensive chassis or modular solutions.

  • Converts ATM signals from UTP to fiber at either 25 Mbps or 155 Mbps. This
     media converter solves the difficult issues of network migration in both ATM
     environments.

  • Converts twisted pair signals to fiber optic signals without modification when
     used between two ATM nodes operating at the same speed.

  • Used in pairs, the Transition Networks' ATM UTP to Fiber Media Converter is
     the only product that extends 25 Mbps ATM beyond 100 meters.

Note: There is no existing standard for fiber optic transmission of 25 Mbps ATM. When
 used in this environment, the Transition Networks' ATM UTP to Fiber Media Converter
 must be used back-to-back between 25 Mbps ATM UTP devices.

Extend Network Distances: Extend a link between ATM switches up to 2,000 meters
 (6,600 ft.) multimode, or 20,000 meters (66,000 ft.) single mode in a LAN
 environment. These fiber connections can be made on a port-by-port basis making even
 high-density ATM equipment customized for a specific cabling environment.
